Sally Anne, assisted by her husband, Peter, share a passion for
painting landscapes and often work together en plein air.
Inspired by the 19th Century Impressionist movement, her paintings
tell stories. She seeks to capture moments of everyday life
in ordinary places. The couple are frequent visitors to the
South of France, and the intense light of that region, has
influenced the bold use of colour and scintillating light effects
seen in the work.
Sally Anne had some formal art training at a London University Of
Education, where the work she presented for her final exhibition
was highly acclaimed. She had her first solo exhibition, as
an emerging artist, at the Century Gallery, Henley Upon Thames, and
has subsequently, showed her work in various galleries in East
Anglia and the south of England, as well as working on
commissions. Her designs have been published as greetings
cards, and she was listed on Larousse, a list of French artists,
and featured in three editions of R.E.G.A.R.Ds, a French art
catalogue. In the summer of 2019, her work was shown at the
La Galleria, Pall Mall, London and she has been a finalist twice in
the emerging art competion at Creates Gallery, Monmouth. More
recently, the couple had a joint exhibition at Cumberland Lodge,
Windsor Great Park.
